Pregnancy Safe Skincare

Pregnancy Safe Skincare

Since I have been pregnant, I have had so many ladies who are pregnant or who plan to become pregnant ask me what skincare regimen I use and what I would recommend. While you are pregnant, there are certain chemicals, acids and toxins that you should stray away from. But we all know, sometimes the organic, fragrance free and chemical free products don't always work. And unfortunately with pregnancy, comes breakouts, oily skin, dry skin, dull skin, blackheads…you name it. Hormones can be devils.

I wanted to share with you what I have found works for me. I am not a doctor so as always, ask a healthcare provider if these products and ingredients would be right for you. So far, all of these have been cleared with mine but every doctor's opinions are different.

Ingredients to avoid:
1. Salicylic Acid (Acne)
2. Retinoids (Anti-aging)
3. Soy (Hyper-pigmentation)

A cleansing mask that helps purify skin and visibly minimize pores

This says it is a cleanser on the tub, which it is. However, I have used it as a gentle exfoliant every other day during my pregnancy. It scrubs away dirt, dry skin, blocked pores and blemishes and leaves my skin visibly brightened.

3. The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil
During pregnancy, our "out of whack" hormones can cause blemishes. I have been fortunate to not have this problem often but when I do get a little spot, I dab some of this on after I have moisturized and leave it on over night. It has no salicylic acid in it which is hard to find when it comes to a spot treatment. I used this even before I got pregnant. In the summer, sometimes when I find my skin to be more oily, I put a few drops in my daily moisturizer. Now that it is winter and my skin is on the dryer side, I just use it to dry out blemishes.

These are great for removing makeup before you cleanse. They are chemical free, fragrance free and hypoallergenic.

I mean, it doesn't get more luxurious than this stuff. You might as well treat yourself to some fancy lip care during pregnancy. This is the best lip balm I have ever used and it better be for the $27.00 price tag.

Wearing a sunscreen is an absolute must…pregnant or not. Sunscreens, including those that contain ingredients that penetrate the skin, are perfectly safe for pregnancy. I slap this on after I have moisturized and before I use a primer or makeup. The high SPF protects me all day and it doesn't leave the typical sunscreen scent or oily reminence on your face.

Let's be honest, us pregnant women don't really get great sleep. At least I haven't. Not to mention, I am pregnant during the coldest time of year. My skin and under eye area has been extra dry and tired looking so this product has been a lifesaver. It literally has three ingredients: Avacado for moisture, Beta-Carotene as an antioxidant, and Shea Butter for dehydration and restoring skin's suppleness. A must have for pregnancy.

This is the warming cleanser that I have been using AM and PM. It deep cleans, detoxifies, dissolves pore clogging impurities, removes makeup and brightens skin texture.

A toner that gently clarifies, deep cleanses, purifies and refines pores to maintain a clear complexion.

This moisturizer is really light weight perfect for day or night. I have only been using it during the day as I use a thicker Clinique moisturizer at night. It helps keep my pores clear and and maintaines a clear complexion.

Baby Jenkins Nursery Inspiration

Baby Jenkins Nursery Inspiration

Hi y'all! So I promised I would get my nursery inspiration up a couple weeks ago and I am a bit late. My apologies. I decided before I even got pregnant that no matter what the gender of our baby is, I wanted to have a gender neutral nursery. I think it is classic. My overall theme I am going for is a Dutch Modern Vintage look. I think this will look good as a newborn room, toddler room, and even kindergarden. I love a simple, clean vintage look. The walls will be painted all white to keep the room bright and all of the toys, books and stuffed animals will bring in the color for the nursery. I hope you enjoy! If you would like to know where any of the items are from, see below! I will make sure to take pictures whenever the nursery is complete and reveal it to you on this blog.

19 Weeks

How far along? 19 Weeks
Total weight gain? 9 pounds
Maternity clothes? Maternity jeans!
Stretch marks? No, but I lather up on Clarins Oil twice a day so my stomach is greeeeasy!
Sleep? Seriously so good. I got a pregnancy pillow this week and it has literally changed my life. It has also replaced my husband. Sorry, Ty! I honestly don't know how I have gone this long without it! I spent a day doing research on the best one I could find. I didn't want to buy one that had rough fabric, lost its shape quickly, or was too flat or too puffy. I wanted the perfect one. I decided to go with this one from bumpnest.com because they had everything I was looking for. And the patterns and fabrics were much cuter!

Best moment this week? Sleeping through the night!
Miss anything? Not really.
Food cravings? Not really any I can think of this week. Shrimp still...
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope!
Gender? No idea!
Labor signs? No
Symptoms? Just a growing belly! It gets uncomfortable at times but I am sure I will get used to it. It honestly bothers me the most in the evening because it is mostly bloat.
Belly button in or out? Still in!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? Happy!
Looking forward to? We have our anatomy scan next Monday! So excited to see the little baby again. I am praying that it is healthy and happy. I honestly don't care what the gender is. :)

See y'all next week with an update from my doctor's appointment.

18 Weeks

Sorry guys. I am really behind on these. It has been a busy couple of weeks. I don't have a picture to share from 17 weeks to 18 weeks because there wasn't really a growth change. I will post one on the 19 week update. :)

How far along? 18 Weeks
Total weight gain? 9 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes, but just wearing maternity pants. I need to find a really good pair of thick black leggings. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep? This week's sleep has been terrible. Not because I was tired but because my back and my sciatic nerve were killing me. I could not get comfortable. I tried taking baths at 2:00am and 4:00am and nothing seemed to work. Tylenol helped a bit but I was in tears from the pain. I got a prenatal passage to see if that would help and she said there was nothing she could do for me as it was my nerve. I decided to call the OB because having this pain so early on scared me. I honestly can't imagine dealing with this the next 22 weeks. The nurse suggested I try to go to my chiropractor. So I did. Low and behold…chiropractors are a Godsend. It literally took care of the pain immediately. I am going to continue to go every month and keep everything lined up! Our bodies change a lot during pregnancy and there really is no reason to suffer.
Best moment this week? The chiropractor. Hands down.
Miss anything? Not really.
Food cravings? Ice chips (so strange), bananas and apples with peanut butter
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope!
Gender? No idea!
Labor signs? No
Symptoms? Just back pain. Otherwise I feel pretty good.
Belly button in or out? In and I hope it stays this way for a while!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? Cranky. I was in terrible pain all week. But, now I am super happy!!!
Looking forward to? I have a couple interviews lined up for next week so I am hoping they go well so we can buy a house and get the nursery ready in time for baby!

January 18, 2014

17 Weeks

How far along? 17 Weeks
Total weight gain? 8 pounds
Maternity clothes? Just maternity jeans and maternity leggings. They are the most comfortable items!
Stretch marks? Nope. Clarins Body Tonic Oil is the bomb.
Sleep? Can't complain! I almost always wake up about 2am, use the restroom, drink a whole glass of water, play around on my phone and I am back asleep by 3:30. Very strange.
Best moment this week? Honestly, this week was pretty scary for me. I had to spend Tuesday night in the ER.  Everything is okay so I won't go into detail. I am back on Modified Bed Rest for now which sucks.
Miss anything? Not really.
Food cravings? Water with crushed ice!!! bananas, shrimp cocktail, and red onions. So weird!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Not really! Thank goodness!
Gender? No idea!
Labor signs? No
Symptoms? Loss of energy. I feel like the baby is about to go through a huge growth spurt and I wonder if that is what is affecting me energy wise. I have never taken naps before and I am able to fall asleep and actually take a 45 minute nap. It is amazing and I am not complaining as it gives me a chance to refuel.
Belly button in or out? In and I hope it stays this way for a while!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? Pretty happy actually. I spent the week planning out my nursery design. I will do a post on that next week and share a bit of my inspiration for the room that I am planning.
Looking forward to? My husband's birthday! We are going to go see the new Hunger Games movie and go to Piropo's for some fine dining. We LOVE this place.

See y'all next week with my next update!

January 7, 2014

Here we go...

Monday morning, Tyler and I decided to have a quick breakfast and then go to the gym together. I have been on a huge jogging/running kick lately and had been running every day. I felt amazing. But Monday, I just felt like I should take it easy. I decided to do the stationary bike for 25 minutes on a low intensity. I just felt different. While I was peddling along, I decided to check my period tracker app on my phone and realized that I was supposed to start my period the day before. Hmmm...*mental note*, make Tyler stop at Wal-greens for a pregnancy test on the way home.

Sure enough...

I had always dreamed of telling my husband in a cool way. That all went out the window when my adrenalin was so high that I ran around the house screaming his name until I found him...outside moving things around on the patio. I ran outside with the test and showed him. First thing out of his mouth, "No you aren't." Uhhh...way to kill the mood! Men are so weird. They need a doctor to confirm things before they will believe it. It wasn't until I went to the pharmacy and came home and took two more tests that it finally sunk in to him. We decided to tell only our parents first.

The next morning I woke up to some spotting. Sorry if that is TMI. It was very, very scary and really made my anxiety skyrocket. Because of that complication, we spent the whole week in and out of the doctor's office having exams and getting blood work done. Not to mention, I was on bed rest the whole week. That week was one of the hardest weeks of my life because of the uncertainty. The doctor mentioned that of the women who bleed early in pregnancy, 50% of them lead to miscarriage. As this was heavily on my heart and mind, I was unable to sleep for 6 days. Yes, 6 days. I would not recommend going without sleep for 6 days. I have always had chronic insomnia but never this bad. In my opinion, it is the worst pregnancy symptom you can have. All I did was lie awake on the couch all week, by myself...in the dark...worrying. After finally getting good test results back from the doctor yesterday, (HCG is up to 8,000 and doubling every other day) I was able to get some shut eye. Now, it was only 6 hours, but it helped. Right now, I am just hoping and praying that everything will be okay and I can keep my anxiety and worries at bay. One of my best friends said it best..."You just have to go with the process. Everyone's different. It's going to go the way it's going to go. It's out of your hands. Just take care of you and try not to worry too much. You won't do anything wrong." Thanks Tay. It was so nice to hear this.

As I have always felt that writing was therapeutic to me and I need something to get my mind off the worry, I have decided to get back to my beloved blog and put it to good use. I will be recording all my thoughts and yes, "The Taylor Diary" of pregnancy. This is mainly for us, but for those of our family and friends that want to follow along each week on our journey, I hope you enjoy!

How far along? 4 weeks! It is October 14th.
Total weight gain? Lost 3 pounds. : /
Maternity clothes? Nope. I've been living in sweatpants due to the whole bed rest factor.
Stretch marks? No, but I am going to order some special stuff this week!
Sleep? Not one minute. This sucks!
Best moment this week? Finding out and getting to tell our parents!
Miss anything? Sleep aids!!!
Food cravings? Mashed potatoes (only the Bob Evans kind)
Anything making you queasy or sick? Brushing my teeth and any talk of food before 12 am.
Gender? No idea!
Labor signs? The bleeding was especially scary.
Symptoms? Boobies are sore! Nausea and insomnia. Mood swings. Crying a lot!!!
Belly button in or out? In and I hope it stays this way for a while!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? Moody and emotional!
Looking forward to? The spotting going away!

How far along? 5 weeks!
Total weight gain? Stayed the same.
Maternity clothes? No.
Stretch marks? No.
Sleep? Finally slept 6 hours!!!
Best moment this week? The spotting stopped and I got a good night's rest.
Miss anything? still sleep aids
Food cravings? Cinnamon rolls and chicken strips
Anything making you queasy or sick? Carpet spot cleaner
Gender? ?
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? Mood swings, nausea, insomnia
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? Moody and emotional!
Looking forward to? Our first official OB appointment on November 6th.

How far along? 6 weeks!
Total weight gain? Stayed the same.
Maternity clothes? No.
Stretch marks? No.
Sleep? It still is just not great. This is the thing I hate most.
Best moment this week? We had another scare with some spotting and the doctor wanted us to come in for an early ultrasound to rule out ectopic pregnancy. We went in last Wednesday and were able to see the gestational sac and the yolk sac and everything seems to be progressing normally. It was too early at 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant to see the baby or the heartbeat.
Miss anything? Sleep aids. I have a feeling this won't change.
Food cravings? I craved blueberry muffins this week and, coincidentally, the baby is the size of a blueberry.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Honestly, with the exception of the muffin craving, it has been more food aversions. Nothing sounds good to eat. I have to force myself to eat something because nothing sounds good. Oh, and brushing my teeth. Basically, I can only brush my tongue when I am on an empty stomach. Learned that the hard way.
Gender? ?
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? Nausea, insomnia and I have to wee all the time!!!
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? This is a tough question. I am happy, moody, down, excited, nervous, anxious...basically I have felt every emotion in the book.
Looking forward to? Our first official OB appointment on November 6th.

How far along? 7 weeks!
Total weight gain? Stayed the same.
Maternity clothes? No.
Stretch marks? No.
Sleep? I am so exhausted but I can't turn my worry wort brain off long enough to fall asleep and when I do fall asleep, I don't feel like it is the deep sleep that I like.
Best moment this week? Today is Wednesday so I am a bit behind on my 7 week update. However, Tyler and I got to see the baby this morning. He/she has a strong heart rate of 150 and everything looks great. I felt a wave of relief come over me after our appointment this morning. I am finally allowing myself to get excited.
Miss anything? Sleeping through the night. I have to wee ALL the time.
Food cravings? Uh...nothing. Nothing sounds good. Actually I did really want some toasted ravioli the other day so I indulged. It may have made me sick but it was still real good.
Anything making you queasy or sick? I am so sick that even unpleasant thoughts make me vomit. Enough said.
Gender? Everyone keeps telling me they think it is a boy because of the heart rate. I have no idea what this means but I can't wait to find out!
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? Nausea, insomnia, headaches, frequent urination (to be scientific), headaches, cramps, exhaustion....After re-reading this question, I have now realized that I am a miserable human being right now.
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? I feel extremely happy today...still nervous...but happy!
Looking forward to? Thanksgiving in 2 weeks!

How far along? 8 weeks!
Total weight gain? Stayed the same.
Maternity clothes? No.
Stretch marks? No.
Sleep? On and off. I sleep one night and not the next. So frustrating.
Best moment this week? I actually started to feel hungry at times. This really hasn't been the case much.
Miss anything? Turkey sandwiches from Jimmy Johns. You aren't supposed to eat deli turkey when you are pregnant unless you heat it up really well. I only like deli sandwiches cold so this has been a bummer.
Food cravings? I can't really think of any cravings in particular other than a turkey sandwich which I did not indulge in.
Anything making you queasy or sick? The tuna aisle at Hy-Vee. A rather embarrassing sprint to the bathroom in the grocery store occurred after this.
Gender? Everyone keeps saying "he!" We are going to feel really bad if it is a girl and we have been referring to it as a he this whole time.
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? Nausea, insomnia and a bit of anxiety from worrying all the time about everything!
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? Pretty moody this week to be honest.
Looking forward to? Thanksgiving!

How far along? 9 weeks!
Total weight gain? Stayed the same.
Maternity clothes? No.
Stretch marks? No.
Sleep? It still is not that great. This is by far the most frustrating thing about pregnancy to me but I guess I just have to get used to it.
Best moment this week? To be honest, it was the few nights I got a good night's rest….and any morning, or afternoon, or evening that I don't feel sick is glorious.
Miss anything? sleep
Food cravings? Ugh, nothing. I wish.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Every time I brush my teeth, I can expect a full on gag show. This is a weird one…clean laundry. I hate the smell of it right now. I am not sure if I just don't like the scent in dryer sheets we have been using or if it is just potent but even Tyler mentioned something to me about it. I knew I shouldn't have bought the Hy-Vee brand. Always stick with Bounce.
Gender? Gosh, like I said before…my gut is telling me boy. No pun intended. :)
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? Nausea, insomnia, frequent trips to go wee. :)
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? This week was better in the mood department. Still pretty hormonal, though.
Looking forward to? Thanksgiving!

How far along? 10 weeks!
Total weight gain? Stayed the same.
Maternity clothes? No, but my pants are starting to get pretty tight in the pooch area. I am starting to just use the hair tie trick but it is still somewhat uncomfortable.
Stretch marks? No.
Sleep? Getting better. Crossing my fingers that this improves week by week.
Best moment this week? Bath times. I have really enjoyed taking a warm bath at night with candles lit. It helps to relax me and about the only thing I can indulge in right now.
Miss anything? Deli turkey. I love my deli turkey. And sushi. Man, I love sushi.
Food cravings? Cuties and pickles!!!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing in particular. I just get a wave of nausea the second I sit up in the morning. It is not a fun way to wake up.
Gender? We are going to be waiting about 6-8 more weeks for this probably.
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? Nausea, insomnia, frequent urination, sore breasts. Ouch. One thing I have been really grateful for is the fact that I never really broke out in the first trimester so far. My skin looks pretty clear. Knock on wood. I am very thankful for that.
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? Pretty happy to be honest. Some mood swings here and there. Whoops.
Looking forward to? A date with my husband and Thanksgiving!

How far along? 11 weeks!
Total weight gain? Stayed the same.
Maternity clothes? It honestly just looks like bloat so no. I am making due with what I've got.
Stretch marks? No. But I did have a freak out moment one night this week. My pants are obviously a little tight right now so at the end of the day, I was changing into my pajamas and could have sworn I saw the beginnings of stretch marks on my stomach. Turns out it was just from the tight waistline but you better believe I went out and bought the special Clarin's Body Tonic Oil the very next day along with some Palmer's Cocoa Butter. Had to nip that in the bud real quick.
Sleep? Getting better. Crossing my fingers that this improves week by week.
Best moment this week? Tyler and I went to St. Louis to be with some of his family for Thanksgiving. His mom took us shopping the day after Thanksgiving and bought the baby the cutest gender neutral baby clothes at Baby Gap. They were having a sale and everything was 50% off. It was amazing and so fun getting to shop for the Goochie Goo. Yes, that is it's nickname. Much better than calling it "it" if you ask me.
Miss anything? Still turkey sandwiches and sushi.
Food cravings? Still Cuties and pickles!!!
Anything making you queasy or sick? The Lay's potato chip commercial where the lady is getting a manicure and the next scene shows her dirty, greasy hands. She messed up a perfectly good manicure with that crap. Ugh. That commercial is so gross.
Gender? I still think boy! We need a good name if this is the case! :)
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? Nausea, insomnia, frequent urination
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? Gosh, I feel like I have been really moody this week. Just being honest. :/
Looking forward to? Our next doctor's appointment on Wednesday. I will be 11 weeks 2 days. Hoping and praying to get good news and a clean bill of health. And of course, looking forward to seeing our sweet baby again.

How far along? 12 weeks, guys! Yay! One more week and I will officially be in the first trimester! We aren't doing an official announcement until Christmas Day because we are telling my family at our Christmas Eve gathering. :)
Total weight gain? Stayed the same. I never gained in the first trimester probably because I didn't have an appetite and was nauseas and vomiting the whole time. Eek.
Maternity clothes? Not yet. I would totally take a picture but there really isn't anything to see. Honest.
Stretch marks? Nope!
Sleep? I'm coping with what I get let's just say that. I have this weird restless leg thing going on and it makes it really difficult to relax. That and I wake up every hour to wee.
Best moment this week? We had our 11 week appointment. The nurse came in with a doppler and prodded around for about 45 seconds looking for a heartbeat. I'm pretty sure she could have found mine super fast because as every second passed that she wasn't able to find it, my heart rate escalated. Finally, she was able to find it and it was the most beautiful sound. Tyler and my mom were able to come with me and everyone in the room got teary eyed. It was so awesome. This baby has a strong heart rate of 160 and we are so grateful. Also, I mentioned to my doctor that I was having incredible anxiety. I was just terrified that the baby wasn't developing properly. I know there is no way I can control that but my doctor is so wonderful and wanted to put my mind at ease. She let us slip in for a quick ultra sound and the baby has 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 hands, 2 feet….everything is there. Tyler secretly took a video and the baby was so active. The tech said, "Wow, this baby is busy. It is having a party in there!" It honestly was the coolest thing I have ever seen. I can't believe our baby is fully developed and you can't even tell I am expecting. So crazy. I don't know how someone can witness the miracle of conception, development and birth of human life and not believe in God. It was an awesome day.
Miss anything? GUYS, I really want the Jimmy John's beach club sandwich. I told my mom that is the first meal I want after giving birth. Turkey, turkey, turkey.
Food cravings? Umm…I had a craving for boneless buffalo wings but it went away within like 10 minutes. I have found that if you don't "hit that" craving quickly, it will pass. Ha!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Just brushing my teeth still.
Gender? No clue and I am starting to get this crazy idea that I may not want to find out. I need to obviously discuss this with my husband but I keep thinking that it would be really neat to just be surprised. We will see.
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? insomnia, a little nausea in the morning but after I eat it is usually a lot better. Honestly, I am starting to feel a lot better! Thank goodness.
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? HAPPY! It was a great week.
Looking forward to? Saturday! I have a Kappa Christmas party to go to and I haven't seen some of my sorority sisters in a while! It will be so nice to catch up. I haven't decided if I am going to tell them yet so we will see. They may take a guess anyway when I don't join in on particular festivities. :)

How far along? HELLO SECOND TRIMESTER! :) I am so happy to see you…13 weeks!
Total weight gain? Still exactly the same I was before pregnancy. I am sure my body will soon catch up.
Maternity clothes? No and I am pretty okay with that. I think when I start showing, I will try the belly band first. The longer I can put off buying maternity clothes, the better.
Stretch marks? No sir.
Sleep? I wish this would get better.
Best moment this week? I would say looking at my pregnancy app on my phone Monday morning and it reading, "Second Trimester". It has been a tough 3 months so I am happy to be saying goodbye.
Miss anything? Still cold deli turkey sandwiches. I also really want a tuna roll. ha.
Food cravings? Pickles. I ate a whole jar in two days. I am not sure if thats good or not. They have to be Claussen spears though. I won't eat any other kind.
Anything making you queasy or sick? I randomly got sick at 3:00 in the morning Monday night and now I can't eat salad anymore. I'll leave it at that.
Gender? No idea! Still toying with the idea of leaving it that way.
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? Guys, I have been super irritable. My poor husband. I literally went OFF because the horn on my car stopped honking and all I want to do is honk at dumb drivers because they obviously didn't take drivers ed seriously. On a better note, nausea seems to be getting better and better.
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? Ha…well, happy but moody. I am all over the place.
Looking forward to? Sending out our New Year's cards that my friend, Emily, took for us. They are so cute. We were going to do a formal announcement on Christmas day with one of the photos she took but I spoke with the OB nurse on the phone and she said it would probably be best to wait until after my next OB appointment on January 2nd. I will be almost 16 weeks then so I will feel a little better about announcing knowing everything is A-Okay in there. Side note, I am so excited to see our baby again that day or just hear the heartbeat. I love that sound.

How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain? I think maybe 2 pounds. Things are getting snug lets just say that.
Maternity clothes? Not yet. I need some jeans I think.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep? This is still touch and go.
Best moment this week? My nausea has almost completely dissipated. I am so thankful. My friend Ashley put it best. It feels like you have a mild flu for three months. I would so agree with her. My energy is slowly creeping back too!
Miss anything? I want a dang turkey sandwich. There are moments when I am so tempted and think to myself, "Should I do it?" But I never do...
Food cravings? Honestly, not really this week. Nothing has really sounded good.
Anything making you queasy or sick? No sir!!! :) :) :)
Gender? I don't know but I am starting to think girl because I was so sick. Everyone keeps telling me that but we will see.
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? None really this week other that some irritability.
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? Again, I am all over the place.
Looking forward to? Telling our family on Christmas Eve! Then, on Christmas Day, we fly to Sierra Vista, Arizona to be with my brother, sister-in-law, nephews and niece for Christmas. My parents are already there and waiting for us. :) It will be a nice relaxing week/weekend. Then, we have our 15 week OB appointment where we get to hear goochie goo's heartbeat again!

How far along? 15 weeks
Total weight gain? 3 pounds.
Maternity clothes? Not yet. This is first on my list for this weekend. I need some pants.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep? Oh my gosh! I am sleeping! Glory to God in the highest!!!
Best moment this week? Spending Christmas in Arizona. It was amazing and the weather was beautiful. My brother also took us shooting and I shot a shotgun and an AR15. #Rambo
Miss anything? During the Chief's game my brother made Bloody Mary's. I am not much of a drinker but I love the ones he makes. I had to settle for a virgin one which was sub par.
Food cravings? Shrimp! Like, What?!?! With cocktail sauce!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Airport public restrooms. Good grief. Some people just do not have good hygiene. Grosssss.
Gender? I am about to take this question out because I am tired of answering it the same every week. LOL. "Still don't know!"
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? None really. Getting a bit of hunger back in me.
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? I have been quite happy and very calm this week. Knock on wood.
Looking forward to? Our doctor's appointment on Thursday! After we leave, we are going to the post office to mail our cute little announcements.

How far along? 16 weeks
Total weight gain? 4 pounds.
Maternity clothes? I did buy a couple pairs of denim this weekend!
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep? Great! Hallelujah!
Best moment this week? Probably the doctor's appointment. We got to hear a healthy heartbeat! The heart rate was 144! The doctor gave us full clearance to tell whomever we want. :) We also sent out our pregnancy announcements in the mail. Above is one of the pictures from the shoot. I will attach more below as well. My friend, Emily, from Emily Ashton Photography did such a fantastic job! If you live in the Kansas City area, go check out her website! Very talented!
Miss anything? Not really. I still want a turkey sandwich. Arg. Who came up with this stupid rule anyway?
Food cravings? Strawberry salad! (Grilled chicken, Romain Lettuce, Balsamic Vinaigrette, Fresh Mozzarella and Strawberries!)
Anything making you queasy or sick? Not really. Certain smells still get me but nothing terrible.
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? Nope! I feel pretty darn good! I don't even look pregnant still. Someone tell me my bump will appear, please!
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? WEEPY! I could cry at the drop of a hat. whoops.
Looking forward to? Hearing from our friends and family who don't know the news. Everyone should have their announcements today with the exception of the one we sent to Germany and the one we sent to Puerto Rico.

Below are some more pics from our pregnancy announcement shoot with Emily Ashton Photography. Enjoy!

Hot, Hot Hot! *totally had to add a goofy pic in there. it wouldn't be me not to.*

My husband looks beefy here. That's hot.
Ok y'all! Now that the secret is out, I am probably going to post weekly updates from here on out. I will also probably try to include a little bump pic (don't worry…no bare belly) so I can look back on this time and remember the progression. Now, if I only had a bump to start doing this with….

Until next week... :)
