Hi friends!

I didn't have any time to put together a "What I'm Wearing Wednesday" post so I thought I would share a song I have been loving lately! This is a fabulous cover of Rihanna's Diamonds by Marie Digby. If you have never heard of Marie Digby, check her out. Great music!

Tidbit Tuesday: What I'm Loving This Week

It is that time of the week again. That time where I share what I love at the moment. It is mostly beauty products but I do like to throw in one non-beauty item. Stay tuned...that will be last. :)

So here we go:
This is probably my new favorite nail polish combination. For the base coat, I used Essie's Sugar Daddy and for the top coat, I used OPI Katy Perry's Teenage Dream.

It does not get much better than this. I have never used Lush products. Mostly because I never knew Kansas City had a store and didn't want to pay for shipping to shop online. One Sunday, my friend Ashley (over at The Ramblin' Rooster) and I decided to go to the mall. She had heard that we in fact did have one and low and behold, she was right! I smelled like every product in the store. Some, I was not so fond of to be honest. Others, like this....I CAN'T STOP SMELLING. But I have always been a sucker for rose smelling products. This is an interesting concept too. After I am finished with my shower, I step out of the water and apply this to my legs and arms. I little bit goes a long way. Then, when I step back in the water to rinse of the excess product, it leaves this substance on your skin. It is such a cool feeling. It feels like I have taken a bath for 45 minutes in straight lotion. I just can't say enough about this product. When I get out of the shower, I just pat dry and there is no need for me to apply extra lotion. Mmmm and it smells so yummy! Let me know if you have any questions about this product in the comment section. :)

My next favorite this week is something that I have been using on and off since I was 13 years old. When I was 13, my mum took me to get my first bit of makeup. I think every girl's first makeup experience was with Clinique. They are very basic, classic and clean which is pretty much what a 13 year old should look like when wearing makeup. She also got me my first skincare routine from there. I think every girl has tried this at one point in their life. It is just so cute! She bought be the bar of soap cleanser, the purple toner and the Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion. It is recommended for combination skin, which is exactly what I have. I LOVE this stuff. I just recently ran out of my night cream from Clinique that I posted here. I felt that the night cream was too much for my skin. I would wake up to greasy skin in the morning which told me I need a lighter night time lotion. So, back to the basics I went. I like that it has no SPF in it because I don't need that at night. I still use my Cetaphil lotion during the day for that. I like to keep the Clinique lotion in the refridgerator so after I wash and tone my face at night, I put a few drops of this on my face and it gives a nice cooling effect. With this particular product brings me to my next favorite...

When I was at Clinique getting my lotion, the associate informed me that it was free gift time! Woo hoo! She asked me if I wanted the violet or pink color line. I randomly said violet because I feel like I have enough pink stuff. (What girl doesn't?) Anyway, she presented me with this super cute Spring looking, flowery makeup bag and some awesome gifts inside. By far my favorite thing from this gift was the lipstick inside. It is called "SHY" and it is the most amazing every day lipstick. It is a soft, glossy, muted, sheer berry. I love that it has no shimmer and is so polished, yet neutral. It is the perfect shade for any eye color, skin color, hair color...you name it. It is perfect. I got so lucky. If you need anything from Clinique, RUN! Tell them you want the gift with the lipstick named Shy! You will thank me! This is probably my favorite lipstick I own...and that is a lot coming from me because I own about 50 in all shapes, sizes and brands. :) So creamy! Love it!

There is not much to say about this mascara except for "Hallelujah! I think I have found a winner!" It is affordable, just as good as any high-end mascara and it has real bristles...which I love. I can't stand mascaras that have plastic wands. Maybe I am crazy. Anyway... Walgreens, CVS, Target; they all have it! I wear the Black Noir in Waterproof. :)

Okay, and last but not least. My favorite non-beauty item of the moment has got to be....DRUM ROLL, please. I have been eating it non-stop for 3 days. So random.
Yes, Fruit Loops. Back to 2nd grade people. Mmm!

Okay, that is all for this week. Leave me comments and tell me what your favorite things are this week! I love seeing what you love... (and maybe trying them out myself) :)

Beauty Review: Real Techniques

Have you ever seen a picture or a video of another girl's makeup collection and been like, "Uh, what do you need all those brushes for?...How do you know which one to use?....Should I be using makeup brushes?"
I know I have. I used to apply my foundation with my fingers. Gasp! I used to use the little eyeshadow applicator that came with the product in the package. Gasp! I used to use the smudge stick on the other side of the eyeliner! Gasp!
I was such an amatuer. No really, it is perfectly fine if you do the three things I mentioned above. Do whatever works for you! But, I thought I would give you my two cents on using makeup brushes to apply your makeup in case you are interested.
I feel like I have tried every brush, sponge, or technique one could think of. I remember when MAC brushes were all the craze. To me, they were always over priced and boring. I have tried the brushes you buy at Walgreens. The hair just falls out all over your face...it's annoying. Then I discovered Real Techniques. If you haven't heard of them, they were basically discovered by a "YouTuber" named Samantha Chapman. (So cliche, right?... a YouTube beauty guru with her own makeup brush line.) I was skeptical at first, too. But seriously, these things are amazing. They are sturdy, affordable and they have every brush you could possibly need. See picture below.
Here are some of my favorites:

From left to right:
The Core Collection:
Buffing Brush: great for buffing in mineral powder or powder foundation for maximum coverage
Contour Brush: egg shaped and tapered cut... great for contouring or highlighting
Pointed Foundation Brush: I find this quite small for applying liquid foundation so I use this particular brush for under the eyes powdering/concealing
Detailer Brush: the perfect spot concealer brush :)
The Starter Set:
Deluxe Crease Brush: I don't use this brush in the crease of my eyes because I have smaller, deep set eyes. I do, however, love this brush for concealing under my eyes and around my nose with creamy concealer.
Base Shadow Brush: I love to use this brush when applying eyeshadow all over my lid
Brow Brush: Great for exactly what it is called. Filling in your brows.
Pixel Point Eyeliner Brush: I use this brush to smudge my eyeliner
Accent Brush: This brush is great for highlighting the inner corner of my eyes to make me look more "awake".

The three brushes above are sold separately. From left to right:
Stippling Brush:  *Perfect* for stippling on cream blush. You can also use it to apply cream/liquid foundation
Expert Face Brush: I use this to apply my liquid foundation. I apply it in circular motions until I feel like I have good coverage. I LOVE this brush. It is probably my favorite.
Blush Brush:  I apply my blush with this brush. (Say that 5 times really fast!) I also like to use it to set my foundation with powder.
Finally, the brush above is called the Crease Brush. This brush is perfect for really getting into the crease of your eye and shading. This is probably my second favorite brush.
Anyway....this was a very detailed description of the makeup brushes I use. Have I sold you on them? If so, get them at Ulta or on Walmart.com. You won't be disappointed! :)
Until next time...Happy Blending!
