Therapist Thursday: No One is Perfect

Hi friends,

Again, it has been a while since I have had my last classic "Therapist Thursday" post. Boy are you in for a treat.

As I write this, it is 2:27pm on a Thursday. I am propped up in my cozy bed with my dog at my feet and a hot tea on my night stand. I should be at work still. But, I decided to come home early. No, I'm not sick. At least I don't think I am. I have had a sore throat on and off for about 5 days but I am forcefully telling myself that it is just allergies and it will go away. Reverse psychology, you see. The truth is, I am overwhelmed. (And it just so happens to be the time of the month. Great timing.) For all of you people thinking, "Suck it up, Taylor." Be quiet. I know my limits. I know when it is time to throw in the towel and give my brain and my body a rest. I'm not playing around. The last thing I want is to get sick before my 2 events next week. Yes, I said two. I have two out of my four events for the year all within 5 days of one another. I am prepared for them. In fact, I will kick butt when they get here. But, I will kick butt being rested, calm, and feeling organized.

At lunch today, I decided to pull myself out of the reports I had been staring at all morning and get on my social media outlets. Don't lie. You all do this too. We check Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, blogs, You Tube videos and Instagram. I read a blog and this cute little blonde girl was making this cute little "juicing" drink in her perfect little kitchen. I read it, looked at the pictures, jotted down the recipe and moved on. I got on Pinterest and looked at all the cute pictures of cute *organized* house decor and architecture. I ran across the cute outfit a blogger was modeling, re-pinned a few things and moved on. I logged on Instagram and scrolled through my feed to see the most perfectly laid out outfits, a girl that had taken a picture of her neck wearing that amazing fan necklace from J-Crew that I have been drooling over (yet, can't afford) for two months, a cold Starbucks drink laying out on someone's perfectly organized white, bright, and not cluttered (staged) desk, and tons of cute "selfies" that girls have posted of their outfits of the day. At this point, with the overwhelming mood that I am in, I am clearly annoyed. Now, I must clarify that I am guilty of almost every single one of these Instagram posts. For some reason, what was supposed to be a "relaxing" mind break from work turned me into a depressed, envious and self-esteem lacking girl. I felt imperfect and "not enough." Does that make sense?

Side note: Did y'all count how many times I said the word "cute" in that last paragraph? It was on purpose. I was being a smart aleck.

I need to remind myself that it is OK to be imperfect. I am a very specific person and a relish in control. So, I am not opposed to perfection. It just isn't feasible. Maybe if I didn't have a full time job. Maybe if I had a maid. Maybe if I didn't have to do laundry or cook or grocery shop. Then would I be perfect? The answer is NO. (But, I would be less stressed.)

And why is it that we always want more, more, more? I love Instagram, Pinterest and reading blogs. They are fun and mindless communities. However, these particular outlets always leave me feeling less than satisfied and wanting more. It is important to remember a picture can be made to look perfect. I have sometimes posted a "selfie" outfit of the day (#OOTD) on Instagram and it gets like after like. What you don't see is sometimes the shirt I am wearing has holes under the arm pits, the jeans I am wearing are two sizes too small, and you don't see me from the neck up! Most of the time I am on my third day of not washing my hair and I don't have a lick of makeup on. This is what I am talking about. It is important to realize that we are not perfect! Why is it that we always want more followers? Whether it be through Instagram, our personal blogs, Pinterest boards, Twitter...I could go on and on. Why is it that we think that the more followers we have, the more successful we are? It isn't true at all. I am done thinking that way. Having more followers has a sneaky way of making us feel adequate, desired, loved and praised. But then, once we reach a number that we thought we would never get to, it leaves us greedy wanting more and more. We have got to stop thinking this way. Myself included. It isn't what is important in life.

And it certainly isn't why I blog.

I could have come home from work today, sulked, taken a nap, or stared at the ceiling because it doesn't involve using my brain. Instead, I decided to write to you all. It is like therapy for me. And maybe, by writing this, I will at least reach one person that feels the same way I do and this strikes a chord with them.

By the way, the last thing I want to say before I leave you is that SERIOUSLY(?!?!!!!!) the one day I decide to come home and relax, my apartment building has workers going window to window outside tightening these ugly awnings on a really annoying machine that BEEPS so loud!!!!!!!! Picture it. You all know the classic reverse beeping sound I am talking about. This always happens to me. Now I am going to go take some Tylenol and yell out my balcony to shut that stupid machine lift off and come back another day when I am at work!

Creamy Chicken & Spinach Casserole (with rice and curry)

Hi friends!

So I was tagged for a #widn post on Instagram yesterday afternoon and it just so happened that I was setting the table for Sunday dinner with my husband. I mentioned that I had a chicken, curry casserole in the oven and a couple people were interested in the recipe. So, here it is! I don't have a picture of it because I forgot to take one. I do, however, have a detailed recipe for you below. It is so good y'all! I can't take credit for it though. It is my mother-in-law's recipe that she got from another friend of hers. Those Southern women sure can cook! And...I'm learning myself. Bon Appetit!

Creamy Chicken & Spinach Casserole (with rice and curry)

What you'll need:

Minute Rice (4 servings)
1 can of Cream of Chicken Soup
3/4 cup of light Mayo
1 10 oz. frozen box of chopped Spinach
3 chicken breasts
1/4 cup of chicken stock
2 T curry powder (more if needed)
1 tsp salt
2 cups of shredded Colby cheese

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Boil chicken in salted water.
Let chicken cool and cut into small cubes.

Cook rice as directed for 4 servings.

Cook Spinach in Microwave as directed. (drain after cooked)

In a large mixing bowl, combine Cream of Chicken Soup, 3/4 cup of light Mayo, Spinach, 1/4 cup of chicken stock, curry powder, splash of salt and chicken. Mix thoroughly.

Place contents into a 9x13 baking dish. Layer shredded Colby cheese on top.

Cook in oven for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

This is the closest picture I could find on the internet of this recipe. It looks like they don't cube the chicken but I do. It makes it so much easier to serve!

Serve with salad and wheat rolls!

Yummo! Enjoy friends!

I love to use the word annoying...

Okay...so I am somewhat in an irritable mood today. My husband would tell me to leave the word "somewhat" out of my last sentence.

I decided today that I would blog about my annoyances for the past 24 hours. I try to be positive on here. I really do. However, sometimes you just need to get things off your chest. Before I get a shameful comment trying to make me feel guilty...I know these annoyances aren't the end of the world and things could be a lot worse.

This will be somewhat humorous, I promise.

1. Progressive Insurance commercials

Any commercial involving Flo, the Progressive Insurance lady, is bound to make me poke my eyeballs out. Here I am, relaxing after a long day of work, and the next thing I know this STUPID commercial comes on. I immediately tense up and want to throw my dog's bone at the television. Seriously!!! HOW ARE THESE COMMERCIALS STILL PLAYING. MAKE THEM GO AWAY. This poor actress will never have a chance after staring as Flo. God save us all from these commercials. And why did they name her FLO?!!!! Seriously! That name makes every woman cringe simply because....well, you know!

Even my dog hates these commercials.

2. Sweaty legs at night

I am sorry if this grosses some of you out but I am not perfect. I don't sleep in perfect matching pajamas, I wake up with dragon breath and my legs sweat at night. I seriously can't stand it. Especially after I have just put fresh sheets on the bed. After months of dealing with this off and on, I decided to google it this morning. Turns out the highest answers on forums for those with a problem like this are those that are going through severe withdrawals, menopause or are on anti-depressants. Now, none of these are possible so I probably just need to turn the air conditioning on. But GEEZ...so gross. You know, come to think of it, it has just started after getting married. Maybe sleeping next to another warm body (my husband) is making me sweat. Moving on.

3. My husband

First things first. I love this man. I really do. But sometimes we annoy each other so much. Here are a few things that have been driving me nuts!!! The one morning I don't have to wake up at the butt crack of dawn, my husband decides to get up at 6:15am and make himself an English muffin. This morning I woke up to sounds of a knife scraping a peanut butter jar. This kid was going to town trying to get every last bit of peanut butter out of that jar! Its like "geez, why don't you just lick it clean!!!!?" Can I please just sleep past 6:30am for once?!

Secondly, my husband will kill me for writing this but I don't care. My favorite hairspray is the L'oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray. He had his own bottle of hairspray for the first 3 months of marriage, decided he didn't like his, and kept stealing mine. Finally, I just gave it to him because I was tired of him reaching under the cabinet for it while I was doing my makeup. Do you know how hard it is to apply eye liner when someone is constantly reaching under you for hairspray!?! I haven't even gotten to the annoying part yet. This kid uses so much hairspray every morning that I think I have developed emphysema. After he uses it, I feel like I am sitting in a room with a bunch of anthrax.

4. Papercuts

Lastly, I have gotten 2 of these bad boys in the past 2 days. SO ANNOYING!

That's all. Looking forward to an un-annoying weekend.

What is annoying you lately? Am I the only one that goes through periods of being really annoyed with certain things?

Happy Friday!

Guest Post: Meet Lauran from The Real Young Housewife of Southern Virginia!

Hi friends! Today, The Taylor Diary is operating a little differently. There is a first for everything, right? I want to introduce you to my first guest blogger, Lauran! She is from The Real Young Housewife of Southern Virginia blog. I just love her. And of course, we met on Instagram....through Sam Steele-Ponder to be exact. It is a long story but it has something to do with a dog, that looks like a lion...that is really a dog. Read on for details. Lauran is a girl after my own heart. She talks my language...and in this post she shares some amazing dupes for expensive beauty products. A few of these, I WILL be trying. Mark my words. I am so honored to have her join me today. She also let me take over her blog for the day so head on over to her blog and see my post, too!

The Real Young Housewife of Southern VA

Hey Y'all!!!! I'm Lauran and I ramble on and on over at The Real Young Housewife of Southern Virginia!! Taylor and I have done the ole switch-a-roo today and are guest hosting for one another!! So whether you are here or there... WELCOME!!!

Besides the fact that Taylor shares the same name as my little sister she also shares my love for Samantha Steele Ponder, which is how we met! We didn't start off as friends through blogging, oh no, we started out as friends through Instagram. On Sam Ponder's Instagram to be exact! If you don't know who Sam Ponder is, well you're living under a rock, or you just aren't a guys gal! Long story short, Sam is an ESPN reporter and a new wifey to Christian Ponder, the QB of the Minnesota Vikings! Below is Sam's photo that brought Taylor and I together!

This was in my area, near my Alma Mater Old Dominion University, whose mascot is Monarch the Lion!

Anywho, I told you I ramble! Now that you know how Taylor and I met, I'll get to what I wanted to share with yall today! Like Taylor, I love makeup, but sometimes I believe some products are just WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! Thank goodness for Pinterest who always seems to come to the rescue with tricks of the trade! I wanted to share a few I've run across, but have yet to try. I certainly plan to once my store bought brand name items run out!

I am a religious user of Primer! I'm an even bigger fan of Smashbox Photo Finish Primer.
Via

This product will set you back about $36.00, but have no fear, Pinterest is here, with a much cheaper option!

Via
According to the blogger that this pin originated from, the Monistat Chafing Relief Powder Gel has the same active ingredients as those in Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. Even more shocking?! The Monistat costs around about $6.00!!! That's a $30.00 saving!!! You better believe once I'm out of my Smashbox I will be running to get this stuff!!!

The next product I am a fan of that helps keep my makeup in place is Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray! My makeup artist used this on me for my wedding and I've been addicted ever since!

Via

This spray will set you back $30.00 but of course there is a cheaper option for you!

Via
Make your OWN setting spray for as little as $6.00! Check out this link for the recipe! It's easy peasy and very nice on your wallet!!!

Lastly, if you don't use a make-up remover of some sort, you should! Cleansers don't clean your face entirely of dirt and oil unless the majority of your makeup is removed! Brand name Make Up Removing Wipes can cost upwards of $30.00! These MAC wipes cost $20.00 for a count of 45 sheets!

Via
The cheaper option?! E.L.F. has makeup removing sheets!! $3.00 for 20 sheets! Granted it's a less count than MAC but you can buy two packages of E.L.F. sheets for just $6.00!! You simply can't beat that!

Via

Can you believe these cheaper alternatives!? As a baller on a budget I am actually looking forward to trying out these champagne style options with a beer budget price tag! I think Taylor, being the cosmetic guru junkie she is, should give them a try too!

Now that you all have a list of my new cheap-o must haves, come visit me anytime in my neck of the woods! I'd love to have you!!!! I can't thank Taylor enough for having me guest post today! She most definitely is one of my most favorite blog land people!!! Make sure you check out her guest post on my blog today!!! XoXo!

What do you think, y'all? Isn't she awesome?!! Thanks so much for tuning in today and I hope you enjoyed this special "switch-a-roo" as Lauran calls it. :)

XOXO,

Diamonds

Hi friends!

I didn't have any time to put together a "What I'm Wearing Wednesday" post so I thought I would share a song I have been loving lately! This is a fabulous cover of Rihanna's Diamonds by Marie Digby. If you have never heard of Marie Digby, check her out. Great music!

Enjoy!

Tidbit Tuesday: What I'm Loving This Week

It is that time of the week again. That time where I share what I love at the moment. It is mostly beauty products but I do like to throw in one non-beauty item. Stay tuned...that will be last. :)

So here we go:
This is probably my new favorite nail polish combination. For the base coat, I used Essie's Sugar Daddy and for the top coat, I used OPI Katy Perry's Teenage Dream.

It does not get much better than this. I have never used Lush products. Mostly because I never knew Kansas City had a store and didn't want to pay for shipping to shop online. One Sunday, my friend Ashley (over at The Ramblin' Rooster) and I decided to go to the mall. She had heard that we in fact did have one and low and behold, she was right! I smelled like every product in the store. Some, I was not so fond of to be honest. Others, like this....I CAN'T STOP SMELLING. But I have always been a sucker for rose smelling products. This is an interesting concept too. After I am finished with my shower, I step out of the water and apply this to my legs and arms. I little bit goes a long way. Then, when I step back in the water to rinse of the excess product, it leaves this substance on your skin. It is such a cool feeling. It feels like I have taken a bath for 45 minutes in straight lotion. I just can't say enough about this product. When I get out of the shower, I just pat dry and there is no need for me to apply extra lotion. Mmmm and it smells so yummy! Let me know if you have any questions about this product in the comment section. :)

My next favorite this week is something that I have been using on and off since I was 13 years old. When I was 13, my mum took me to get my first bit of makeup. I think every girl's first makeup experience was with Clinique. They are very basic, classic and clean which is pretty much what a 13 year old should look like when wearing makeup. She also got me my first skincare routine from there. I think every girl has tried this at one point in their life. It is just so cute! She bought be the bar of soap cleanser, the purple toner and the Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion. It is recommended for combination skin, which is exactly what I have. I LOVE this stuff. I just recently ran out of my night cream from Clinique that I posted here. I felt that the night cream was too much for my skin. I would wake up to greasy skin in the morning which told me I need a lighter night time lotion. So, back to the basics I went. I like that it has no SPF in it because I don't need that at night. I still use my Cetaphil lotion during the day for that. I like to keep the Clinique lotion in the refridgerator so after I wash and tone my face at night, I put a few drops of this on my face and it gives a nice cooling effect. With this particular product brings me to my next favorite...

When I was at Clinique getting my lotion, the associate informed me that it was free gift time! Woo hoo! She asked me if I wanted the violet or pink color line. I randomly said violet because I feel like I have enough pink stuff. (What girl doesn't?) Anyway, she presented me with this super cute Spring looking, flowery makeup bag and some awesome gifts inside. By far my favorite thing from this gift was the lipstick inside. It is called "SHY" and it is the most amazing every day lipstick. It is a soft, glossy, muted, sheer berry. I love that it has no shimmer and is so polished, yet neutral. It is the perfect shade for any eye color, skin color, hair color...you name it. It is perfect. I got so lucky. If you need anything from Clinique, RUN! Tell them you want the gift with the lipstick named Shy! You will thank me! This is probably my favorite lipstick I own...and that is a lot coming from me because I own about 50 in all shapes, sizes and brands. :) So creamy! Love it!

There is not much to say about this mascara except for "Hallelujah! I think I have found a winner!" It is affordable, just as good as any high-end mascara and it has real bristles...which I love. I can't stand mascaras that have plastic wands. Maybe I am crazy. Anyway... Walgreens, CVS, Target; they all have it! I wear the Black Noir in Waterproof. :)

Okay, and last but not least. My favorite non-beauty item of the moment has got to be....DRUM ROLL, please. I have been eating it non-stop for 3 days. So random.

Yes, Fruit Loops. Back to 2nd grade people. Mmm!

Okay, that is all for this week. Leave me comments and tell me what your favorite things are this week! I love seeing what you love... (and maybe trying them out myself) :)

XOXO,

Beauty Review: Real Techniques

Have you ever seen a picture or a video of another girl's makeup collection and been like, "Uh, what do you need all those brushes for?...How do you know which one to use?....Should I be using makeup brushes?"

I know I have. I used to apply my foundation with my fingers. Gasp! I used to use the little eyeshadow applicator that came with the product in the package. Gasp! I used to use the smudge stick on the other side of the eyeliner! Gasp!

I was such an amatuer. No really, it is perfectly fine if you do the three things I mentioned above. Do whatever works for you! But, I thought I would give you my two cents on using makeup brushes to apply your makeup in case you are interested.

I feel like I have tried every brush, sponge, or technique one could think of. I remember when MAC brushes were all the craze. To me, they were always over priced and boring. I have tried the brushes you buy at Walgreens. The hair just falls out all over your face...it's annoying. Then I discovered Real Techniques. If you haven't heard of them, they were basically discovered by a "YouTuber" named Samantha Chapman. (So cliche, right?... a YouTube beauty guru with her own makeup brush line.) I was skeptical at first, too. But seriously, these things are amazing. They are sturdy, affordable and they have every brush you could possibly need. See picture below.

Here are some of my favorites:

From left to right:

The Core Collection:
Buffing Brush: great for buffing in mineral powder or powder foundation for maximum coverage
Contour Brush: egg shaped and tapered cut... great for contouring or highlighting
Pointed Foundation Brush: I find this quite small for applying liquid foundation so I use this particular brush for under the eyes powdering/concealing
Detailer Brush: the perfect spot concealer brush :)

The Starter Set:
Deluxe Crease Brush: I don't use this brush in the crease of my eyes because I have smaller, deep set eyes. I do, however, love this brush for concealing under my eyes and around my nose with creamy concealer.
Base Shadow Brush: I love to use this brush when applying eyeshadow all over my lid
Brow Brush: Great for exactly what it is called. Filling in your brows.
Pixel Point Eyeliner Brush: I use this brush to smudge my eyeliner
Accent Brush: This brush is great for highlighting the inner corner of my eyes to make me look more "awake".

The three brushes above are sold separately. From left to right:

Stippling Brush:  *Perfect* for stippling on cream blush. You can also use it to apply cream/liquid foundation
Expert Face Brush: I use this to apply my liquid foundation. I apply it in circular motions until I feel like I have good coverage. I LOVE this brush. It is probably my favorite.
Blush Brush:  I apply my blush with this brush. (Say that 5 times really fast!) I also like to use it to set my foundation with powder.

Finally, the brush above is called the Crease Brush. This brush is perfect for really getting into the crease of your eye and shading. This is probably my second favorite brush.

Anyway....this was a very detailed description of the makeup brushes I use. Have I sold you on them? If so, get them at Ulta or on Walmart.com. You won't be disappointed! :)

Until next time...Happy Blending!

Tidbit Tuesday: What I'm Loving This Week

I have no excuse not to blog today. This is the third snow day in a week and I am going stir crazy over here. I've cleaned the house, finished the laundry, put away the laundry, cleaned out the pantry, cleaned out the refrigerator, put on a pot of chili, and organized my make-up storage. Now I am sitting here under my favorite Pottery Barn faux fur blanket and I thought I would say hi to you all and share 5 things that I am loving this week. I go through phases. Maybe you do too? I will find a lipstick or a foundation that I love and I will use it until I feel like I want to try something else. I go through food cravings and I will eat that particular food until I am sick of it. I am the type of person that is always evolving and I love to try to new things. That is why Tidbit Tuesday is perfect--so I can share what my "flavor of the week" is. :) Leave a comment for me in the comment section and tell me what you are loving at the moment...or if you've tried what I have!

I am loving this foundation routine at the moment. I have combination skin, especially in the winter, and this particular foundation is so matte and has about medium coverage. It controls oil all day. Usually, I have such a hard time with drugstore foundations. I like to try my foundations before I purchase them which is why I usually go to Nordstrom. I like to get an exact match in color. But, I decided to be brave and just try it because I have heard rave reviews about this particular product. A little tip when trying to match drugstore colors without opening them-- just put the bottle right up to the back of your hand. It normally is the same color as your face. When applying this foundation, I would definitely use a damp beauty blender so the foundation goes on easier. If you don't have one of those, just wet a drugstore makeup sponge and pat, pat, pat.

If you follow me on Instagram, (@thetaylordiary) you are already well aware how much I love these little guys. I particularly can't wait to see what it looks like with a tan in the summer. They have so many different colors. I went with the color Rose Petal which looks like a light, peachy pink. I usually have a big problem with cream blushes settling into my pores and causing build up but it doesn't do that at all. The only complaint I have about this product is that it isn't very long wearing. But, the good thing is that you don't need a brush to apply it so I usually just throw it in my purse and re-apply throughout the day. I also love matching my blush to my lips so sometimes I will just dab a bit on my finger and apply to my bottom lips to create a pouty effect. Go grab one of these if you are looking for a naturally flushed look. They are oil-free and very lightweight!

I LOVE THIS STUFF. No, Seriously. I do. If you haven't tried the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters, do it! They are gorgeous. I bought this Rasberry Pie color and it is beautiful. The next colors on my list to buy are the Candy Apple which is kind of a tomato red, and Sweet Tart which is the prettiest candy light pink (perfect for Spring/Summer). These lipsticks are great for those of you who want to try out some color but don't want to spend a fortune finding the right shades. Oh, and no need to wear Chapstick with these babies...they have mango, Shea butter and Coconut butter to soothe your lippies. The only con-- because of the buttery, glossy finish, they aren't going to last for a long time. Just re-apply and you are good to go. You don't need a lip liner with these.

I was looking for a shampoo that I could use once a week that would completely strip my hair of residue that had built up from the product I pile on. This Garnier Fructis Fortifying Shampoo works great. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a shampoo that I only use once a week and is literally only on my hair for 30 seconds. Still, it works great for what I needed it for. It is infused with Acerola Berry Antioxidant and does not leave a heavy residue. I usually use this on Sunday when I plan to let my hair air dry. (By the way, this is one of my favorite things to do. I love air drying my hair.) Plus, I love the smell. It is so clean and fresh. No Silicone, no Paraben, and No Dye. If you feel like your hair has been weighed down lately, try a fortifying shampoo. I also really like the Neutrogena Anti-Residue Formula as well. I just finished it up and decided to try the Garnier Fructis and so far, I like!

For my non-beauty addiction at the moment, I would like to present to you Parmesan Goldfish. I ate an entire package of these in a day and a half. Woops. Now, I am sitting here (snowed in) and I am completely out. I feel like I am going to get anxiety because I can't get out to buy more. By the way, these are so good in place of crackers in chicken noodle soup. Annnd, they smile at me when I eat them. Just look at the package. Okay, I am officially a looney tune and am going to sign off. As always, thanks for reading!

XOXO,

Street Style Saturday: Quay Coffee

After two days stuck in the house from Snowmagedeon/Snowpocalypse, we had to get out. We decided to head down to the River Market area of downtown Kansas City and pop in our favorite coffee place called Quay Coffee. They make fresh drip coffee and it is the cutest little Portland-esque coffee hut. If you live in the Kansas City area, you should definitely drop in and check it out. There are three things I noticed about this post...A) My pictures are terrible today, B) I need my hair highlighted so bad I can hardly stand it and C) My outfit isn't that great. I have been wearing sweatpants for 3 days and wanted to still be comfy. Sorry for being lazy.

Tidbits Tuesday: What I'm loving Now

Hi friends!

So this is my first Tidbits Tuesday feature and I have tons of things I am loving at the moment that I want to share with you. But, for the sake of time, I am only going to share 8. 4 random, non beauty items and 4 beauty items. Here is what I am loving the most this week:

My sister in law pinned this amazing pan of 'yummyness' on pintrest and I just had to try it out. It is called Baked Cheesy Chicken Penne and you can find the full recipe here. I made this for my husband last night and it was great. I usually don't toot my own horn but it was so totally restaurant worthy. I'm accepting applications as I type this. I kid, I kid.

If you know me, you know I have a teeny, tiny obsession with Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge. How could you not? (Lauran, I know you will appreciate this.) While I don't think it is fair that the associated press hounds her for baby bump pictures, I am guilty of scouring the internet for her latest pop ups. I don't know about y'all, but I am just dying to see what she wears for her maternity. This is not the last thing you will hear from me about this chick. She pretty much rocks.

I seriously can't believe I am admitting that I watch this. My husband and I both do. I have found this season to be so intense. Drama, drama, drama. All jokes aside, how many of you watch this and are looking forward to next week's episode when supposidly Desiree's brother and Sean get into a physical altercation? I know I am. Bring it. So glad I don't have to watch Tierra's eyebrow raise anymore by the way.

Turn on some Bachelor and let me pop one of these in the oven and I am set. If you haven't tried this exact frozen pizza, get off your butt (and your diet) and run to the store....as fast as you can. I am seriously addicted to this and have to have it at least once a week. Maybe this is a good thing to give up for lent? Or maybe I will just vow everytime I eat one to do a few sit ups. That'll do. Thank me later.

THIS STUFF SMELLS SO GOOD. Perfect for Valentine's Day. I'm not sure if it is a new scent but I picked mine up at Beauty Brands a little while ago and decided to save it for the month of February. No reason in particular, I just wanted something festive. It retails for $24.00 and can be used as a shampoo, bath & shower gel. I love Philosopy. Every one of their scents leaves you feeling fresh and girly. I am also in the market for some Soap and Glory body wash however, I can't find any store that sells it and I want to smell it before I buy it. If you have an idea where I can get some, leave me a comment!

My mom bought me this Mac Paint Pot in the color Constructivist. (Thanks mum!) This has become a holy grail item in my makeup routine. It can be used as an eyeshadow primer or or a cream shadow. It is a warm brown with a slight shimmer and is so flattering. I really like a smokey eye and my favorite way to create that effect is with brown colors. Hit up your local Mac and try it out. They have a lot of other colors too!

I seriously bought this Laura Mercier Lip Stain so long ago. I have recently discovered it again from my makeup collection. I think when I first bought it, I was trying to be brave and wear deep lip colors. Then I stopped being brave and put it away. Well, I am back being brave again. It is in the color Mulberry. It can be applied with your finger or a lip brush. My personal preference is to apply it with my index finger because it is more of a stain so I want it to go on lighter. I love how matte it is! I hope you will try it out and let me know what you think!
I could not find a picture of this Chanel Glossimer on the internet for the life of me so I snapped a pic of my own. I hope you can tell what color it is. (I tried to take a picture under natural light.) This is a deep magenta/purple color perfect for Winter! I have been using it a lot lately during the day and night even though it is really pigmented. For the record, I don't usually spend money on luxury beauty products like this. I think this was a Christmas present from my sister-in-law a year ago. I love this purple color with my blonde hair but I could totally see it on a brunette as well. Love this!

So those are 8 of my favorite things this week. Leave me a comment and tell me what you are loving this week. I always like to see what others are coveting.
